The decision took into consideration reconfiguration of the Specialized Technical Committees (STCs) and further decided that each STC should meet at the level of Ministers and Experts once every two years. STCs are policy organs of the African Union in accordance with Article 5 of the Constitutive Act of the African union. The second STC meeting on Migration, Refugees and Internally Displaced persons will be crucial to the future of Africa as a continent, as it will focus on key framework policies and important legal instruments for the implementation of Agenda 2063 of the African Union and its first 10 years implementation plan.
Journalists are therefore, invited to cover the opening session of the experts meeting on 16th October 2017 at 9:00am; and the ministerial opening ceremony on 20th October at 9:00am and also the closing session on October 21, 2017 at Serena Hotel Kigali, Rwanda.
