Addis Ababa, 12 October 2018: On the margins of the 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), which concluded today in Erevan, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, had a number of consultations with Heads of State participating in the Summit. He met with Presidents Denis Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of Congo, who chairs the African Union High Level Committee on Libya, Idriss Deby Itno of Chad and Faustin-Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic, as well as with President Emmanuel Macron of France.

Similarly, the activities of the High-Level Committee on Libya were also discussed, in the context of the envisaged Reconciliation Conference between all Libyan stakeholders, in close collaboration with relevant international partners, including the United Nations.

The Chairperson of the Commission also met with the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, with whom he discussed modalities for enhanced cooperation between the African Union and Armenia.
