Addis Ababa, 19 May 2018 – After five years as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Mozambique to the African Union, H.E. Mr. Manuel Jose bids farewell to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, on 19th May 2018 at the AU Headquarters.
Amb. Manuel Jose was very grateful to the Chairperson and to the African Union for the support during his mission in Ethiopia: ‘The Government of Mozambique will always remember the help during the challenges faced by my country in 2013 and for the fight for liberation’. Amb Jose seized this opportunity to brief the Chairperson of the Commission on the current political situation in his country.

H.E. Moussa Faki said to Amb Jose: ‘You have achieved five years which you may capitalize to advocate for the implementation of the AU programmes in your country.’ The Chairperson also expressed his satisfaction for the dialogue that prevails in Mozambique regarding the ongoing political situation and he assured Amb. Jose on the commitment of the AU to support all AU Members States including the Republic of Mozambique, in the quest for peace and development.

In gratitude for his good service, H.E. Manual Jose received a certificate and a Pin from the Chairperson of the AU Commission.
