Chair Prof. Hany El Shemy, Dean Faculty if Agriculture, Cairo University
Honorable Dr. Mahama Acting Director HRST
Honorable Presidents of Egyptian Universities and Research Centers,
Honorable guests from Africa member States.
Ladies and Gentlemen
From here from Cairo on the river Nile, I wish you all a very good morning.
On behalf of H.E Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Minister of HESR, allow me to convey the full appreciation of H.E to yourselves and his apology for not being with us in the opening session because of unscheduled meeting. H.E wished for our guests a very enjoyable stay in Cairo. He will join us and participate in the activities of the Forum soon.
I am very pleased to express my warm and sincere greetings to welcome your Excellency and honorable guests from Africa. Indeed, it is a great honor for me to join you on this occasion with the opening of the second ordinary session (STC-EST) in Cairo.
As we all know, (STC-EST), the Specialized Technical Committee on Education, Science and Technology, is focused on Linking Education to Research and Innovation. The meeting brought together senior officials, Ministers and development partners from education, science and technology.
Egypt is linked socially, politically and economically with the African countries. Mutual support between Egypt and the African countries has become beyond common economic interests to the level of a common destiny.
It is time to develop and renew the partnership among African countries in the field of research and innovation, based on what we now have for basic research infrastructure foundation, as well as legislative reform. Our cooperation in research and innovation is the best model of scientific diplomacy.
Ladies & Gentlemen,
I wish you all the success in this important event in achieving the meeting objectives and in supporting the development and modernization efforts of the African education and innovation system, as we hope to be the locomotive of progress and development in our continent.
Finally, I would like to thank the organizing committee for doing an excellent job, and I wish you all a very successful meeting and fruitful discussions and for our guests a very pleasant stay in Cairo.
THANK YOU FOR ATTENTION
